Onwards And Downwards Continues In September 2013

Hello all,
Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Well we were lucky with the weather this summer weren't we? So I hope loads of tasty salads made it into your day. Now we are heading into autumn the kids are going back to school and for some this means a thankful return to no tempting snacks in the house.
But sometimes you just need a little something to keep you going until dinner so how about some ideas for healthy snacks (thanks again xstitcher) to fight the cravings and keep us on track.
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

I'm very pleased to say that I'm down 2 lbs. That was a surprise because with all the rushing about lately I haven't been paying much attention to meals which have also been at some odd times.
Good for you Maydup with your loss. I hope that you and Jan reach your "one stone off for Christmas"

Not sure how they work out the meat poundage thing, probably someone's wild guess, but here was I wondering if I could up the meat protein and reduce the carbs instead.
It'd be interesting to work out how much meat I do consume in a week. Probably twice that I'd expect, and I think I'm not eating that much meat. Mainly bulking up on starch I think. Potatoes, rice, some baked snacks.

...and what snacks do you have xsticher?
I have fruit at 11am. A peach, or a small banana or an apple and some grapes.
I can manage without in the afternoon, but being a night owl, I do sometimes twitch for a snack at about 10pm. Then I have a rice cake with the tiniest dot of jam or honey. Or.... more grapes, a handful of nuts and raisins or a yoghurt.

Oh dear....1lb up this morning. But I did bake a cake at the weekend and then couldn't resist a slice here or there since. Plus a working buffet one evening which was very heavy on the carbs but I was too hungry to resist.
Still, thanks to the routine of logging on here, I'll get back on track today I know. Cottage cheese, celery and radish salad packed for lunch and a good walk promised.
