Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Ok so we had to get them in eventually, warming winter soups. Such a great way to have a filling meal with fewer calories.

Let's have your best recipes.

Plus the debate on whether it is OK to have some tasty bready item to go with or does this push the calories too high?

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

Good Morning All,
Down 2 lbs (1 kilo) so that's good. I hope the rest of you have been able to keep the mince pies down to a minimum until next week.
Well done xstitcher. I'm a pound down this week which totals half a stone since September...in the big scheme, I still have a way to go but I'm happy that after losing 3 stone in the previous 18 months, I am at least continuing to drop rather than put it all back on. Slowly but surely does it.

I might dare myself to weigh in next week! but if i don't post, I wish you all a very, very Happy Christmas. Just this once, leave your feelings of guilt over there on the naughty step, and enjoy it: its Christmas!

Well done the losers. I've just realised it's Wednesday. Well I'm off work at the moment so the week is a bit strange. Scales say up ⅞lbs this Wednesday, which is disappointing; but there again I knew yesterday's reading was just nonsense. No one loses that much over 24 hours.

This maybe the last Wednesday I am able to weight myself until the New Year, pity it is a rise. Still I'll look on it as a loss of 2⅛lbs over 12 months.
This is a poor excuse. I forgot .
Well done Maydup and Xstitcher. I don't think I have gained but will weigh tomorrow .
Merry xmas and a happy new year .
I just found 15 posts in my spam box. I don't know how that happened but I have fixed it now.

Well done to the loosers and keep heart to the non loosers. Since our Christmas dinner is on the 24th I think I will dust off the naughty step so it will be ready and waiting for me.
Well done Madyup and Xstitcher. I have lost a pound, so I'm very happy about that. Happy Christmas everyone!!!
Well done Maryjm and Happy xmas to you . I forgot to weigh as soon as I got up but have now weighed fully clothed and I have stayed the same so that means I may have lost a little bit as I usually weigh before getting dressed .If that makes sense to you lol.
OG I was just looking my weight loss for the year and with all the ups and downs more ups than downs I have gained 3 lbs over the year. I can put that down to middle and a half age spread lol, Have a nice xmas .
If you weigh the same as you did last week, but this time you were fully clothed, then you must have lost at least a pound. Well done Wendilla!
Good Morning All,

I took the liberty of weighing myself today as our Christmas dinner is tonight. I'm just the same.......doubt if that will hold stick tomorrow moring!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL and do enjoy all the festivities including the food.

Just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hope that you enjoy yourselves, echoing xstitchers comment.

See you all in the New Year with new resolve and doubtless a fresh batch of initiates :-)

And a Merry Xmas to you Ed and a happy new year .Thank You for keeping our new monthly posts going .
Looks like we are all hiding from the scales. Have a merry Xmas all and a happy and healthy new year . Hope to see you all next week .
I hope you all like the new me. It was time to freshen up. I hope after Monday I will be able to find my way around here.....nothing too technical I hope Ed.
Xstitcher, you look tickled pink :-)
Happy New Year everyone!
I got on the scales - 2 lbs on over the whole holiday period (which has included 3 Christmas dinners), so that's not unresolvable! (The rest of that chocolate log keeps giving me the come-hither look, though!)
I've just looked up "tickled pink" in the phrase finder. I did not mean it in the rude way; I just meant you look happy. :-D
I didn't know there was a rude way for tickled pink marijn. Now I will have to look it up. I do like the new image...that grey haired old bird was definitely not me.

Am still getting through my turkey, just love it but otherwise have been good.
aha marijn.......I see what you mean.....that would be nice.
