Onwards and Downwards Continues in April 2014
Hello all,
Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Continuing with the seasonal food theme, and also skillfully avoiding the whole how to make Easter boring with no chocolate :-), in April we should be eating these sorts of things:

It seems now is a good time for seafood like crab, cockles and sardines.
Here is something which looks lovely:

Has anyone got any other ideas for April's seasonal food?
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

I have just been watching dinner date and I have just heard her say . It helps to lose weight if you have your mind focused on what you want to achieve . HOW TRUE

Well, as noted weight change doesn't always seem to be in the same 24 hours as the high intakes. But there were a few decent meals (2 from pubs) there, which I only do sometimes when it's not a work week.
The first saw a steak & ale pie with peas & chips & the best tasting gravy ever. That was on the Friday. I had to guess the nutrition values but that day was way up.
Then on the Monday the half chicken (at a different pub) actually looked almost half chicken size ! I wasn't expecting that. The only issue was it was a "special" marinated in piri piri. I thought I was ordering a medium hot, thought being a pub it might be mild ... it wasn't, and I felt it at the time (and I awoke with my 'stomach' complaining next morning !)
Ah well back to the diet :-)

Gosh you really have been in the wars. It's good to have you back and even though no one wants to be in hospital at least you lost 2 lbs.
This reminds me of giving birth to my last baby in a hospital way up in northern Norway and one day having some rather delicious deep fried somethings. Well they were delicious until I asked what they were and was told they were cod tongues!

Well done both.
Seems all are doing well save me. Well it was not a good weekend foodwise. What with Saturday evening at the pub, where I treated myself to my first bag of pork scratchings for 1 1/3rd years (they put nutrition on the bag these days, one bag is almost half a day's allowance !) and the three course meal given me Sunday evening.
Weight has been dropping since then but at this stage it is still up 1¼ lbs since last Wednesday. I really must be good this weekend.... oh hang on one minute there, it's another BH one isn't it, probably a cold wet one again too. Hmmmmm.
