Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Have not got a theme this month so how about your favourite go to healthy recipe.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Oh goodness, I have missed this again this week. I cannot seem to remember what day it is half the time, plus I've been burning the candle a bit! I might weigh in the morning if I think to, if not I'll be with you again next week. Oh goodness, I have missed this again this week. I cannot seem to remember what day it is half the time, plus I've been burning the candle a bit!

I might weigh in the morning if I think to, if not I'll be with you again next week. My favourite healthy recipe is to replace the mince in your shepherds pie, for a tin of green lentils and chopped celery (mmmmm).

Fry off some chopped onions, chopped celery and diced carrot in frylight.
Add anything else you have in the fridge - eg a courgette, a few cauliflower sprigs, mushrooms etc
Add the tin of lentils, a tin of tomatoes and some tom puree.
Add a knorr veg stockpot and leave to simmer.

Cook your potatoes and mash with a little skimmed milk and low fat spead. Pile on top of the lentil mix and grill for five minutes. Serve with seasonal spring green (home grown at the moment!) or some brocolli.
Thanks for this Maydup. It sounds like a good dish for a non meat day.
Well done OG for your loss, Ive lost a pound too :-)
Thanks, and well done to you too.
Finally I remembered and the result is just a tiny loss, but now I am beginning to see it with my clothes.
Well done OG and Marijn.
Well done Xstitcher, and happy weekend.
Thanks Marijn and a good weekend to you all out there.
Well done maryjn and OG and xstitcher . I have not weighed as I need a new battery forgot to get one so will have to wait till Monday now .
Maydup I done a recipe similar to that it is great to use up bits but I didn't use lentils never seen them in tins but will look next time I go shopping .
Good morning all, I'm about the same and have done everything possible to go down.....next week lucky?
Fingers crossed for the rest of you.
Morning I have forgot to get new batteries so when I do I hope to find a good reading .
Wow, is it Wednesday again already ? Surely it was Wednesday only yesterday ?

Well I suppose it couldn't be, since I lost just ¼ lb over the week, but I lost more than that over the last 24 hours !
What a looser you are OG. :-D good for you. My losses seem to be going in the same sizes as yours.
No change today despite carrot and lettuce meals all week.

(Well not quite, but I feel sure I didn't cheat much!)
Luv your football avatar Maydup. I think the key word here is patience..easy to say but harder to practice I know. Going down gives such a wonderful push in the right direction which we need.
Good morning all,
I'm down but just a smidgen so nothing to write home about really. Too much fruit and meat has been the cause, but oh it tasted good!
Forgot to get that battery for scales but got a note stuck to my purse . Been having quite a few salads and cut down on the creams and potions . Don't feel I have put on probably knowing me I have stayed the same .
I'm half a pound up this week :-(

I know exactly why....a few biscuits here, a piece of cake there and a brie sandwich with a side of crisps in a cafe. What am I thinking of?!

I'm really struggling at the moment with a particular time of day - trying to resist a couple of biscuits or a piece of cake with my cup of tea at 10pm. I wouldn't buy them for myself but OH has no problem with his weight its hard to deny him. He has given up bread with me, never eats meat or processed food, or chocolate. he has plain yoghurt and eats his fruit and veg. Its impossible to ban biscuits and cakes for him too!

So any help you can give me to find a small non fruit snack to satisfy my sweet tooth when it strikes at 10pm?

Of late this Wednesday weigh in catches me by surprise each time. Not sure where my mind is these days.

Unfortunately I too am up. By ½lb. I seem to be sabotaged each weekend. Not that yesterday turned out to be that low intake either.
