Last month's thread is Last month's thread is here.

December is here and the whiskers on our gnomes chin's aren't keeping them very warm. This means that they have been drinking a lot of warm soup and not going outside much.

With Christmas in this month, how will the big day affect your weight loss and dieting?

It won't affect me at all. I won't be going to any parties or feasts, so I'll just eat what I normally eat, and let nature take its course. I gave up, a long time ago, thinking about putting weight on or losing it, because whatever I did didn't seem to make any difference. And doing without food and drink that I like just made life that bit more boring. So, cheers to you, AB Spare Editor, and to all ABers!
Cheers SpEd. As per other years, won't be overly concerned during the xmas period. Will try not to go hog wild; but trust any gain will come off in the new year.
It'll make no difference to me. I'll eat what I normally eat.
Another 3 lbs lost, it's veggie soups, and casseroles that are making the difference. I also love walking on crisp cold mornings.
Good news, Rowan.

I've been making soups for the boys lunches (they work outside) and it's filling them up. OH didn't have room for his dinner last night.
With a BMI around 28 I would like to lose about 10 kg. but with no partner to keep me in check my willpower just isn't strong enough! Maybe if I check in here occasionally it will help. I won't be overindulging at Xmas but I do like mince pies!
I will eat 3 courses on Xmas day but they will be spread out from 12 onwards.
As I cannot eat and drink at the same time I will just drink and worry about eating later
You want commitment/incentive Dave ?

I have seen a t shirt that says renovation work in progress with a scaffolding clad figure. Might get it for the gym.
Another three pounds, 20½ so far, chuffed to bits
Good morning all, hmmmmm and that’s all I’ll say about that!
I hope that you’re not having a hmmmm day!
Hi Dave and welcome to our little group. What has always worked for me is having a plan. You shouldn’t have to go without your mince pies but just a smaller portion at a time....1/2 pie every day or every other day. Make it an event so perhaps a cup of coffee or tea with it and your newspaper or whatever so that you are enjoying every small bite....don’t gobble no matter how much you want to. When you’ve finished your treat go immediately and do something to get rid of the picture of the other half waiting for you. Enjoy the angelic feeling you will get! Haha. Ten kilos is very doable and the payback is enormous. I lost 20 kilos by healthy eating and healthy Snacks and planning when, how and what I’d eat. Let us be your support. We are a very helpful bunch.
Good for you Rowan!!! You’re well on the way. Love your description of your Tshirt! Haha Keep us posted. Are you doing this on your own? What is your goal etc.
Sent to weight watchers as they are delivering the pre diabetes plan in out r area. Finding it fairly easy and it does allow for quite a few treats. My only target if just "the next pound". I don't want to think about goal weights just about changes. I did put my motivation as not wanting to be a sad fat, diabetic, breathless crippled old bat. I have depression, asthma, and arthritis too. All of which are already improving. Can't do much about being an old bat...
In the last 19 days it seems I went up 0.8 lbs. Unsure why :-(
Must be a reaction to the previous loss.
Good morning all, well well well despite my disappearance into a bag of marshmallows which I picked up in the local grocery shop I’m still the same.
I haven’t seen these in about 50 years so I found a grill stick and had myself a marshmallow roast over a candle.....they tasted heavenly. Worth every ounce that might come later but I won’t do it again......I hope.....
Just ½ pound this week due to the effects of painkillers slowing things down. Still that's 21 lbs so I am happy with progress so far. I have stashed some healthier snacks for the holiday period and bought a bottle of really good wine to savour over a couple of days. Plan is to still lose weight over the holiday period but just aiming for 5 pounds by 7th Jan.
Others doing well then.
I seem to be gaining 0.2 lbs each day :-(
Good morning all and a very happy new year. May 2020 bring loads of success big or small in the weight area.
I’m starting damage control as of today although I still have ginger biscuits that need to be eaten. I didn’t escape lightly (excuse the pun) from all the Christmas delicacies but I sure had fun consuming them down to the last bite and I refuse to beat myself up over it.haha
And a happy new diet to you too.
