If it was to say 12.5 that would equal twelve and a half stone or 12 stone 7 pound. So as already stated 12.19 equals 12 stone 2.66 pound.

I think that your scales are reading in metric.
You will have to read the manual
Is there not a switch on the base of the scale to change from kilograms stones lbs
I thought that but 12kg is only 24 lbs ish
Question Author
It says I am 12 Stone which is correct but what is the 19 it says please.?
Weigh some books maybe the 1 is half 0
cleo have you red the manual, or do you know make and model of your scales?
Have you tried Googling the make and model?
12.19 stone is 12 stone, 2 & 3/4 pounds.
Maybe it tells the time as well.
It never crossed my mind, when I made my first post, that in the UK you actually have scales that measure in stones. Maybe the 12.19 means 12 stones and 19 pebbles:)
Are you sure the 9 is not a zero? Or an 8?
What is your approx weight cleoval? If it's about 12st then this will be a decimal reading in stone's.weigh youself again while holding something heavy and rell us the reading
sanmac, You have been duly exposed to one of the world's strangest quirks, a uniquely British one (nowhere else at all). Many people in the UK have no mental connection to body weight beyond the stones concept, and this is even though the metric system was introduced around 50 years ago and the vast majority of people were raised within it (yeah, sure - there was the Brexit type resistance against that, foreign nonsense it is, etc.). They can often relate to the weight of other things in kilos, such as bags of cement, sand, parcels, baggage, etc. but not body weight, even at around 3kg for a newborn.

There are lots of people who will tell you that they have lost half a stone - presumably some have now given up hope of finding it, they can never describe it so I can help them look for it. Do you know what half a stone might look like, I don't ?
same with height Karl, people still say there five foot 10 rather than whatever that is in metric money (about 180 cm??)
and when you buy car tyres you quote the diameter in inches and the width in cm - a system invented by the French firm Michelin when they invented radial-ply tyres.
12 stone 1.9 ounces
No pounds figure dannyk13?
Most likely what shoota says- just the stones figure in decimals
Oops should have been 12 stone 1.9 pounds
Some years ago a friend of ours bought a second-hand Fiat 500. He said it would do about 6 deci-tons on a good day.
