I send three parcels to the USA to my daughters over there, age 8 and 12, one week before the RM's suggested deadline. They did not arrive on time, i.e by yesterday.

Two disappointed girls and sorry, I do not find the weather conditions from the very start of December much of an excuse, indeed I calssify it as pathetic when one has spent nearly 30 quid on sending the three parcels..

Who is responsible for policing the RM as I am not going through their cr-p of customer service, which, at first sight on-line, has been designed to obsfurcate the process from the very outset. And they only serve to serve themselves.

only postal workers go postal. Driven mad by crazy customers, I espect.
So then, on what date did you send them and which type of delivery service did you pay for?
Question Author
the parcels were spread between the 18th and the 5th and some sent by parcel serrvice and others by air premium. The joke is that the one extra sent on the 20th by premium has made it through..
Yes clue is in the word premium

I agree jno fully, think RM get a lot of stick from people who havent a clue
Hmm, a most interesting series of exchanges, which in the final knockings gets to the crux of the issue - these dates are suggested dates to get there before Xmas, not guaranteed. So the OP rants on and on about the pathetic service this end when:
a) the delivery date wasn't guaranteed in the first place
b) it may have absolutely nothing to do with RM's part of the service .
Yes exactly what I was getting at, however DTCrossword fan just wanted everyone to agree with him and *** off Royal Mail, as it worked out he didnt even send them all together, chose different services and changed his mind on dates sent? I think it just made him feel better about his daughters not getting their xmas presents!! Perhaps next year he can try using DHL/UPS - RM will not miss his custom, they dont need whingers, when they are working very hard in a very difficult situation, and the majority of the parcels got through..if sent on time and using the correct product.
It only goes to show that there are just as many bad customers as there are bad suppliers.
What the heck has this to do with 'Business' anyway? - absolutely nothing. This is Chatterbank tripe.
I have had problems sending parcels/mail to the US too, one took nearly 7 weeks. I didnt bother this year and sent money instead via paypal.

With regards to the Royal Mail, I am still awaiting parcels posted in the UK, sent first class the week before Christmas........I am assuming now lost in the black postal hole.
