Can anyone please tell me of a good Instant Access ISA available through a High Street branch not online. I am looking to transfer my ISA as the building society I am with has dismal rates. I need it to be instant access not tied up. I have tried to compare rates through google but its a minefield out there!
Santander are dire to deal with if you are online with them. They might not be too bad via a branch. I use thisismoney.co.uk to check rates. They have best rates lists which show details such as whether the account is branch/phone/internet and whether you can transfer in other isas.
i have one with lloyds tsb and it's very simple and easy to run, not sure what the interest is though and i'm not that bothered as i just wanted to save my spare cash somewhere
I have just under 2% with Halifax. Not the greatest rate but anyone with over 5 grand in savings entered in monthly draw. Prizes anything from quarter of a million down. I like to hope!
I have an isa but have just bought some premium bonds too. I might as well have a bit of fun and hopefully win a bit more than the current interest rates are paying.
grasscarp - that`s the only reason I`m keeping last year`s ISA with the Halifax. It`s gone down to 1.95% this year so I`m not chucking any more money at it. My friend in Staines said someone in his local paper won the £100,000 a couple of years ago.
Tks for info 237sj. I never heard of anyone winning so glad to hear it is possible. I live very near Staines! Yes, rate was better last year. Good luck.
Thanks 237sj, i'll keep an eye on this site. I can't really move my isa from the Halifax as my daughter has a child isa which earns 6% as long as I have mine. Otherwise it's down to about 2%.
Grasscarp, I dont mind sharing, 237sj, you, me and 3 others!!
There are some more ISA rates listed here but they are all as low as they've ever been. You question whether its worth chasing 0.5% more than the next one.
