I received my State Pension today but it's the same amount as last month and the month before that.

Any clues, please?

LB, my 2p per month will be the grand sum of £2.40. Not enough for a coffee with Emmie.
i am eternally grateful, its was more than i was expecting.
sorry to say its not tilly, what a shame - our local costa coffee charges 6 pound odd for a flat white coffee or if mate has hot chocolate that 3.50 so around 6.50....for two of us
Question Author
Blimey. I may be out of touch but that's an expensive coffee date.
i know it is, but we can only meet outside currently, starbucks isn't any cheaper. we go to costa packet because we like the coffee
Can't understand this love affair with Costa and Starbucks. Paying over the odds for coffee served in a big, thick bowl with a tiny handly I can't get my finger through.
no other coffee shops are open round here, besides which they cost pretty much the same -
its our one outing generally, i had hoped we could go to pub tomorrow for a pint, but i am having my second vaccine tomorrow and one is not supposed to drink afterwards.

Nobody told me that!

Anyway, enjoy your next coffee date, Emmie. Gotta go, walkies time.
bye Tilly enjoy your walk
I'm the same as barry on this one and to top it off the coffee isn't that hot.
As far as I am aware state pension is paid two weeks in arrears and two weeks in advance.
Danny, some receive their pension weekly, some (myself included) fortnightly and some monthly. Mine went in yesterday but the rise wasn't included. I expect it will be next pay day.
I know I was informed about the increase but then I was informed about the increase in the council tax, (they give with one hand and take away with the other)
I have a private pension, and my increase is also a whopping 0.5%...in line with the consumer prices index. It was 3x as much last year. Booo!
To add salt to the wound Tilly, you will have paid extra tax from your Company pension on the state pension increase that you have not yet received. That is due to it being assessed annually.

Yes, Pasta. It's that pesky Consumer Price Index.

Thank, Ubasses. I feel so much better now!
My state pension rise was implemented last Monday, it was just under £4.
(The rise, not the pension ;) )
