Imposterererering ?
57 Answers
How easy is it, could you do it ?
For example, I have spelled the question after the fashion of a certain poster on here - does that mean I AM him/her ?
If you wanted to hide the real you, how easy is it to post long-term in a way that is out of your real character ?
Could you manage to run say 3 entirely different characters in parallel ? (hint keep notes and be consistent. If caught out, lie brazenly, LOLs are invaluable in emergencies, PMSLs are a coward's way out)

Besides- I genuinely couldn't cope with the stress of being caught out, it's just not worth it.
Thirdly- love your new username, whoever you are!

Do I detect a little sarcasm here?
Flobbergob looks a fresh green to me - but through tinted glasses colours can be misleading!
I wonder how a newbie could possibly know the fashion of a certain poster.
Me thinks AnswerBank Terms of Use and Site Rules are being abused somewhat . . .do I look green, or what?

I wouldnt be able to pretend to be someone else. Anyone who knew me would suss me out straight away.
I have done about 4 aliases on here over the last almost 3 years, all in fun and no nastiness whatsoever, one lasted 3 posts, one lasted 2 posts and the others lasted maybe 4 posts before I outed myself by forgetting I was in another name and just posted as myself lol Most folks who were online at the time knew they were me anyhow lol

I tried it once many months ago.
I got a different user name and posted a question in one of the other topics.
It went well entirely up to the time I answered the one and only contributer with my 'usual' name................about 4 minutes later.....
I gave up there and then. And although the content of 'impostering' threads can be irritating, I have a sneaking admiration for those 'as can'.....
Guess I'm just not cut out for subterfuge.

There are some who do and can .I prefer to use variations of the same name and say what i think.Im criticised for my opinions , but at least you know theres no snideyness with me.Others use the occassional alias to abuse folk they dont have the nerve to do as themselves.I think it stems from insecurity and possibly lack of confidence. If its for fun then fair enough , but most are for abusing and starting the vile paedo abuse which is all too common on here now both night and day .
Then again it might just be because they think theyre clever and everyone else is stupid.
We will never know really.
