hi.
can any body help me.i bought a MERCEDES SLK CONVERTABLE 3yrs ago this month.
i gave a large deposit and the payments were 400 per month.but after 1 & 1/2yrs i had problems finding the full amount,so i was taken to court and because i had paid more that 1/2 the amount owing,i told the judge that i wanted to keep the car and i offered 100 per month.
but the judge said that that amount was not enough and told me that i need to pay 200 per month.after 13months of paying the 200 iv started having trouble paying for my car.
can i ask the company that has my loan to ask them can i lower the repayment cause im having trouble finding the full amount.i love my car and don't want to lose it now.after iv paid over 12,000 for it already,
can i speak to the courts about lowering the 200 down it 100 cause iv been involved in a car crash and im now left DISABLED.
where do i stand in not paying anymore for my car.

If you can't afford it, sell it and pay off your debt. This is a luxury item and not one of life's essentials.
I really don't know why you expect the finance company to keep accepting your terms. You took out the contract when you bought the car, you've already breached it and you're still struggling.
Sell it.

Hi ianglyn - it seems that you're in a bit of a pickle! You may be able to get them to lower your payments, however since you're already in an agreement with them they may not accept it. My advice would be to get some professional help with this, especially if you are struggling with other debts. My husband works for a charity called Christians Against Poverty - they are a debt counselling charity who work with anyone free of charge regardless of belief, circumstances etc and help to get people out of debt by liasing with their creditors, banks etc on their behalf. I'm certain that they will be able to help you. Their website is www.capuk.org and on there you will find details of your nearest centre. Hope that everything works out for you - let us know!!
