does money in a savings acc. & money in an invesment acc. with the same bank come under the same 35,000 guarentee in the event of the bank getting into difficulty?

Not sure I understand the difference between a savings account and an investment account - surely they are different names for the same thing?

There would only be one guarantee per bank
