I have just applied to experian for my credit history. i have had my report back and it says there is a judgment of �849 to Northampton County Court. Does anyone know what this means? Are they saying that i have an overdue debt? and if so, is it a case of paying it and then i will be clear or will somethign stay on my record?

If it is your debt, then paying it will not remove the CCJ from your credit record. It will be shown as satisfied but stay there for 6 years from when it went on (unless you pay it within 28 days of the judgement).

It is VERY rare for someone to have a County Court Judgement against their name and to know nothing at all about it. There are several legal steps taken before a CCJ is granted and the defendant is informed at every stage.
Contact the court in Northampton and ask them to give you the details of the company that has registered this against you. Then check your records and contact the company in question to ascertain EXACTLY what the judgement relates to.
If this is not your debt then the only way of having this removed is by the comapny that registered it to have it removed.
