I was trying to tell my daughter about an article that I read on here now I can't find it to show her. It was if your card gets locked at the checkout you can go to the cashpoint put your pin in then at bottom left it is supposed to say card maintenance .If you click on that it comes up with the option to unlock. Not been to a cash point to check this .Any comments on this as I am sure she is thinking I have got it wrong. I should have copied it off at the time. Thanks for any comment on this.

That's the one .Many thanks. .Been looking everywhere for it.
Wendilla, it really is as simple as that.
Not checked.... but I suspect the facility to do this would be dependent on which bank you're with.
No Chuck, my bank told me I could take it to any Bank AT and quoted some of them as examples

Worth knowing . Will have a look tomorrow when I go out . Thanks for replies
Not sure what you mean by the card getting 'locked' at the checkout. If you mean after incorrect PIN usage - then yes, this is a recognised way of resetting without requesting a new PIN.

You still need to get the PIN right at the ATM. It's not going to help if you really have forgotten it.

Yes, they told you YOU could take THEIR card to any bank and do so. Chuck meant that other card issuing banks may not allow it (they may all do, I don't know). The functions available to you at the ATM depend on your card and your bank, not the machine itself. It may be that Nationwide cards can be unlocked that way but HBOS ones cannot, etc.
Sky, I have a bank card, Nationwide is a Building Society. It worked for me.
It was an illustrative example. I have no idea which bank or building society (it doesn't matter which it is, they are all on LINK anyway) any of you are talking about. The point is just because YOUR bank says you can do it from ANY bank's machine doesn't mean that other banks let their customers do it from any machine at all.
