I think they will.... Won't they??? I thought it only took one missed payment?
Question Author
Yes.. But only after I received the letter.. I pay it off in full each month, just somehow managed to miss this month
If it was just one late payment you should be fine.
Question Author
Yes.. Just one! Are you sure..?! Wow.. You have made my day! :-))) thank you
It all depends on the bank. I got a mortgage with late payments on my file but that was before the banks went tits up.
one you'll be ok, if its a lot then it will show up
One late payment shouldn't effect you getting a mortgage as long as it didn't cause a default. Banks take many things in consideration and you are not guaranteed to get a mortgage just because you have a faultless credit score.
Most of us have missed a payment date. One way to avoid the resultant charges and reduce the damage to a credit file is to set up a monthly direct debit for the minimum repayment

You should be thinking about getting your credit thingey from experian and equifax - statutory fee is £2 and you can find it on their sites but it is well hidden.

one late payment should not affect you and so if you have been affected, then it has to be summit else.

be happy
oh when you get your print out...

it has codes for payment for your last... 24 visa payments I think
O on time 1 late and 2 hopeless, so it is stringed and looks /looked like

00000000100000000 for me ( one late payment 7 months ago )
Getting a morgage has got a lot harder in the last week or so, they now have to ask how much you spend on food, clothes, alcohol, going out, fuel and more. They want to know if you expect to get a pay rise and how you would cope if your income was reduced. Don't tell them you like going out, eat steak drink wine that is likedly to get you refused a mortgage or a reduced offer

Methyl , Mortgage payment calculator here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mortgages/mortgage-rate-calculator#result
For a £100,000 mortgage the payments at 1% intrest rate are £381 month if the % goes up just to 3% the payment rises to £479 month almost £100 more
Many people who can just about afford a mortgage now with intrest rates at an all time low will be stuffed if the rate go back to 'normal' around 3 to 4%.
