Cheques With Rbs

HI i deposited a cheque into my rbs account today its not showing deposited on my online banking how long does it take to show

I would have thought when it cleared. If I draw cash it shows immediately but if I pay by debit card it takes a couple of days to appear, although it is immediately reflected in my available credit. This is HSBC.

Depending on the cheque and the bank, (i.e private and non RBS issuing bank, it can take up to 5 days. If on a RBS cheque it should be immediate.

Cheques are sent away each night to a processing site to be keyed when you check tomorrow it will show that it has credited your account today but it won't be cleared for a few days yet
