Bank Statements

On another thread Donetello has been asked to provide bank statements going back to 2003.

I wouldn't have any for MrG going back that far. I have always kept the last six years and, now after eight years, I have none of his.

What would happen if I was required to provide them as Donetello has?

Six years is the norm, I believe LLoyds hold them longer.

Thank you, Ubasses...that is what I thought....so I don't know how I'd provide them after thirteen years as Donetello has been asked to do.

I thought perhaps I had been a bit premature with the shredder!...☺

The DWP or other 'official' Departments will be aware of this and that is why they have only requested 6 years from Donetello.

I cannot imagine anything crawling out of the woodwork after 13 years. You should be safe.

I thought they wanted going back to 2003.....and I thought.....heck.

Not that I'm expecting any problems....everything was in order but you never know....thanks again...x

The DWP can request details directly from the banks if need be in the case of suspected fraud for example so the banks should be able to provide any information going back for a longer period.

Thank you, Corby......that would be fine were it ever needed.......can't imagine me finding stuff from eight years ago.....

I did have a letter last year (surprised me as it was for years ago and a different address) about claiming for uneeded card protection on MrG's account.....I knew nothing but let them get on with it and got a nice cheque....so I figured someone must be able to find things out....x

DONETELLO did say the statements were required from 2003 so that IS thirteen year ago.

I thought so....but could have been wrong.....I'd never be able to produce those.....
I guess if Donetello can't somebody will?..x

Good grief, I did not see the post being referred to. Unless Donetello is a hoarder there could be a bit of a problem, certainly 6 years was the max when I was working, and from the Which table looks like it things haven't changed much.

Thanks for that link, Ubasses....I certainly don't keep as many as Donetello has been asked for......and I am now paperless.

I wouldn't pay £5 to have NatWest send me a paper copy if needed.....they have my money and for that I expect a service.
