Why Buy Unit Trusts Instead Of Investment Trusts?

I ask given that some commercial property unit trusts have suspended dealing as they cannot meet redemption requests as they can't just turn property into cash instantly. On the other hand if you had shares in a Commercial Property Investment Trust you could sell your shares .

As I understand it, unit trusts are supposed to spread your risk for you.
If it can't buy your units from you when needed then perhaps an explanation is needed ?

thing about Commercial property inv trust
if you look at the rise in commercial prices and the rise in share price
there is a shortfall - reflected in, overheads and possibly buying the wrong properties...

anyway - the FTSE has been around 6000 for ten years or am I wrong ?
clearly not a day trader or stock picker
