Yesterday someone had used my bank card to pay for a hotel in Edinburgh. That has left me considerably overdrawn. Immediately contacted my bank and blocked my card and reported it as fraud. I rang said hotel in edinburgh and they immediately refunded my money. They told me it would be in straight away however it is still not been put back into.my account. I was just wondering if refunds took longer to clear.

have someone got you card or is it some sort of online fraud?
It'll be Monday at earliest, but I'm sure your bank will waive any charges if they accept it was fraud and you were in no way responsible

Someone had my card, I only noticed the discrepancy in my account when I checked to see if my wages had gone in. Its my fault for absent mindedly dropping my card somewhere. The edinburgh hotel said it came at 9am when Id been at work 2 hours. Hopefully my bank will accept it.
Refunds do tend to take longer. When we had to put a deposit down for a hire car the money went out straight away but we had to wait 5 days for it to be refunded.

UPDATE. Headaches continue. I got the refunded money bank, I rang my bank to make sure it was all above board. The guy on the phone told me did i want to cancel the fraud claim, as I was at work I didnt fully understand the question I thought he meant the fraud investigation. So I said yes. Couple of hours later that money that was refunded was taken back. I rang my bank and they explained it, even though I was at work before when I inadvertently ended the claim, the guy didnt tell me any of what was said to me when I rang back. They said they will go back and review it and more than likely will give me the money back. In you guys experience do you reckon I will get back my money? The guy talking to me before said that it will go down as a mistakenly ended claim and should have no problem
