credit card details stolen

i've had my credit card details stolen, along with my address, email address. Card has been stopped but ebay accounts have been opened and so have paypal accounts and they've tried to hack into my personal paypal account.I'm getting really annoyed with ebay because they don't reply to emails.

Is there anyway of stopping this fraud continuing at the moment it seems to be everyday they try something new in my name?I'm really worried what else they've been upt to that i don't know about yet.

If you report it to ebay and paypal then the fraudulent (already opened) accounts should be closed. If you've since had your cards reported as stolen then when ebay/paypal try to validate the card details (if someone was to try to open yet another account) then your bank would decline this "transaction" and the account wouldn't be opened.

If you're concerned that someone might try to apply for other credit cards (or any other form of credit) then I think it's possible to put a password on your credit file so that this is required any time that an application for credit is made. At the very least I'd get a copy of your credit file from experian and/or equifax to see if there's any application showing there that you've not made yourself.

You can get a copy of your credit file by visiting either of these companies' websites and paying two british quids sterling.

Paypal is registered with the FSA (financial service authority) who you can complain to if they do not treat you properly.

There is a phone number on Paypal's site ( Iremember looking it up before) - I would call them rather than rely on emails.

Paypal are really good at answering their phone- Ebay are hopeless.

If you change your password for BOTH of these, and of course your credit card, all should be secure.
