Its been going up and down for months, but dont let that get in the way of your prejudices.

FTSE is not the best measure of the economy and also should be viewed over long periods.

Plenty of day traders living on the benches of the Thames,
Ah well, it’s only for another 18 months, give it take.
sounds like ther ehas been a really sharp fall today
The pound is down to $1.10 something ... traders aren't convinced that these tax cuts are properly thought through.
Maybe not a fall but a strategic lower rung positioning strategy. :-)

Last time it occurred was 1972 Anthony Barber
and was creditted with the inflation of 30% at the end of the decade which Thatcher had to solve

Barber really DID do a budget calcuation using matches....
Is Norman Lamont's Black Wednesday going to be replaced by Kwasi Kwarteng's, Black friday ?
And I am not being racist.
Black Fridays matter
Was that a budget? Well it was at least a Kwasi-budget ...

They are nervous about the government strategy as to what it may mean to their money gathering plans. Fair enough, it's got it's risks, but ultimately it will be results that determine it's worth, not investors' risk adverse attitude.

If you wish to criticise the mini budget there's more milage in the lack of help for the poorest in society, and concentration of good news for the wealthy, particularly bankers gettings bonuses.
Nervous?
The figures show they’re positively damning about it because it’s a recipe for disaster, even the Tories know it.
so keeping Boris woulda been better?
