because it was worse than they thought two years ago, therefore it hasn't fallen so far since then.
For Britain Bashers read:

Concerned citizens holding a previously corrupt and subsequently inept government to account for their reckless behaviour.
I'm afraid the Britain Bashers are the ones running the country. Still, they might get sterling parity with the dollar in time to make the Guinness Book of Records for Christmas
No doubt there'll be some bad news soon for the 5CP to revel in roy. Oh the pound recovered too!
Just remind me again who exactly the Britain Bashers are?

https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2022/aug/16/lazy-british-workers-catch-up-with-liz-truss-once-again

Yet in her acceptance speech at Downing St she said we were the best in the world?
Is there nothing this shameless flip-flipper won’t say or do?

the pound recovered because the Bank rode to rescue it from the government.
There's a subtle difference between "Bashing Britain" and "Bashing the British Government".

My income is mainly in GBP and my expenditure mainly in EUR - therefore I want a strong pound and a healthy British economy - for the sake of my friends/relatives in the UK too.

Watching this hopeless bunch of plonkers plunge the pound from €1.20 to €1.09 gave me no pleasure at all - the dead-cat-bounce rally to €1.12 is hardly a 'recovery'.

So - no I'm not a Britain Basher - but I do want to vilify the Government and bash their useless heads against the floor.
Can I be pedantic and ask belatedly for a link?
Inexplicably ToraToraTora didn’t ask for one of the OP, as he generally does with Gulliver?
Strange.
It will take quite a lot of bad news to dint the brawness of watching three PMs fall on their sword in a row… I wonder if this latest one is busy sharpening hers the noo
Pound fell again though after BlunderTruss and KamiKwasi made their statement.

//Pound falls again after Truss and Kwarteng issue statement
The pound has slipped again, reversing earlier gains, after Prime Minister Liz Truss and Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng met with the fiscal watchdog and confirmed markets would have to wait until 23 November for updated economic forecasts (see 11.41 post), writes Sky News business reporter Nicholas Lester.
The government has rejected demands to bring forward publication of assessments of its growth plans and the impact of planned tax cuts, which sparked turmoil in the financial markets this week.
In a volatile session, sterling was down 0.4% to $1.1072 shortly before 2pm, after touching a one-week high of $1.1235 earlier, taking it close to wiping out all the steep losses in the aftermath of last Friday's mini-budget.
The Tory leadership has faced criticism for not commissioning forecasts by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) alongside the fiscal plan, which rattled markets by announcing big tax cuts funded by borrowing.//

These two are obviously bad for business and bad for the economy.
Our growth was 0.2%. Anyone who thinks we have avoided a recession are going to be disappointed next quarter. 10% inflation leads to a recession.

When you have no credible response, yes.
Royfromaus; Yes - is that the best you can do? Do you really think that "Bonkers" is an intelligent response to a post? Do you see what I'm getting at?

Do you actually keep up with current events or do you make wild accusations just to purposely look silly?
It’s already been more than 10% this year.
