Rishi Sunak – ‘Brexit Will Be Amazing’

How did that go?
Plus Sunak has denied Brexit is having a negative impact – we’ve got no hope with such a deluded fool in charge.
It makes you wonder how such incompetents manage to become prime minister.

The problem is, Hymie, that your obsession is linked solely to the economic effects of Brexit. They may be negative but your blind acceptance of just how negative you believe them to be may be unwise. There have been other events taking place which have been far more disruptive and costly which make the effects of Brexit very difficult to disentangle.
But it doesn't really matter. You don't seem to be able to grasp that for some people, the economy is not everything. As I have said before, I am absolutely delighted with the outcome of Brexit for one reason - the UK is no longer an EU member and a bunch of arrogant, interfering busybodies no longer have a say in what goes on in the here. Anything else is largely "noise".
As for worrying about ridding the country of individual politicians - be careful what you wish for. As I have constantly warned, all politicians tell lies. It's what they do. The electorate has a duty to see through those lies (or better still ignore politicians entirely) and get their information from other sources before casting their votes.
One thing I can guarantee is that whoever forms the next government, it will just as inept, dishonest and corrupt as those that have gone before. The difference now is that the UK does not have to cope with an additional layer of ineptitude, dishonesty and corruption that makes up the EU, interfering in the affairs of the UK. Politicians are rather like flies - they are always around, exceedingly annoying, but nobody has a clue what they are for or how to get rid of them. The country prospers despite them, not because of them, and the fewer of them there are, the better.

Hymie, please stop referring to everyone who disagrees with you as 'fools' or 'delusional', or whatever other derogatory expressions you regularly latch on to. You're talking to adults, most of them have considered current affairs just as much as you have - if not more - and most of them are not stupid. They may not agree with you but that's something you'll just have to get used to.
And...no comments arising from my earlier post? Just "economy blah blah blah...economy blah blah blah...economy blah blah blah."
Has it not occurred to you that some people simply did not like the idea of the UK being an EU member, regardless of its influence on the economy one way or another? Is their loathing of the people who run it and their ideology insufficient to warrant leaving, even though the economy may possibly take a hit? Do they have to have another reason for wanting to leave?
Everybody in the country was asked the question. The reasons they voted the way they did are many and various. For some (such as me) the effect on the economy came way down the list of considerations (in fact for me, it didn't even make it onto the list). But you continually harp on about the same aspect, as if nothing else matters. I've news - to some people other things did matter. Their views were just as important as yours and their views prevailed. You need to broaden your outlook.

//... that Brexit is having no negative impact on the UK.//
Am not going to sit through the video Hymie but I am interested to hear what Sunak said ,,,, his exact words... if you have them please? Not your interpretation of what his said. So we know exactly what we're commenting on

Were economists, especially those who tend to be reported by the mainstream media, tending to be in favour of remaining where there was no step change, or leaving in the understanding that it brought opportunity. And if it turns out they wanted an easier life where they were more confident in their questionable predictions, might that now bias how they interpret what they blame for what ? The whole world has been hit economically by events. For sure the UK had the Brexit freedom change that needed to settle down too, but we see no major difference between the UK and others, on fact we are doing better than many despite EU behaviour and some other nations being less friendly, more self interested, than they could be with allies making a needed change.
Can’t think why you’re in shock on a daily basis then, hymie. I mean, how long is it going to be before you get to grips with the simple fact that we voted ‘leave’ knowing full well that change was to be expected? By the way, I’ve not said Sunak is a fool so I’ll thank you not to put words in my mouth. He’s talking this country up despite the Hymies of this world constantly dragging it down. Think positive, hymie. It’s good for the soul. ;o)
Anyone who has experienced a company reorg in their life knows things need to settle before the improved (or otherwise) status quo is arrived at. At that's without outside influences with their nose out of joint hitting out wherever they think they can do so and get away with denial. But as folk mention, Germany hasn't had a Gexit and they (presumably) aren't putting their troubles down to either Grexit or Brexit. They will know global effects come from global issues, not local or national ones. And since Germany is the powerhouse of the EU, when they get issues, so do they all.
Although the UK electorate was stupid enough to vote leave in 2016; most now realise they were conned and told blatant lies about no down sides to Brexit, and the promised sunlit uplands etc.
Having made the wrong decision, any intelligent person would correct that decision – but not the Brexiteers; we’ve made our decision (which is sacrosanct and must never be overturned).
