I have opened a  bank account with Metro  Bank online, and have received the debit card, through the post, now they are asking me to go into a branch, but they haven't given a reason why, any ideas.

With all their recent "troubles", I'm not sure I'd want an account with them!

Maybe they need to verify something on your application or to activate your card. You are lucky to have a physical branch. Many don't now

If you do reconsider and want a decent online bank, First Direct are always at the top of the Which? Recommended bank list.
