I remember you saying on another thread about how much you were being taxed. It seemed like way too much and you were advised to ring hmrc to see if you are on emergencyvtax code which would be wrong for you. You will be owed refund once you let them know.

Haven't we been through this already?

I'm 56 and dont live with parents but this would be something I would definitely talk to them about to get help and advice. Nothing wrong with asking parents for help.

How many hours a week are you working currently (ie in the job where they moved you onto the Laundry role rather than cleaning /housekeeping.

Yes, talk to your parents.

Already discussed on that link ^^

Can you still afford to pay your mum for housekeeping/board and lodgings or whatever it's called now?

Thanks scorpiojo. I have speed-read all 350 and see Abbey works 21 hours a week. Even at only minimum wage that's about £218 pw...no NI due and no tax based on standard allowance- so £100 deductions seems far too high, even if you're temporarily on emergency tax code

AS told (countelss times) you need to check your Tax Code and also "By law (Employment Rights Act 1996), employers must give all their employees and workers payslips from their first payday. Workers can include people on zero-hours contracts and agency workers. Agency workers get their payslips from their agency." - you must ask for a payslip.

Also you told us you were starved of oxygen at birth, do you think your mother deosn't know this and so has dealt with all the resulting issues all your life? Why can't you tell her?

But you could afford to go out to eat in The Slug and Lettuce today?

Saved a fortune though compared to The Ivy

Have you been working the full 21 hours?

Yes I have but off now so won't get paid.

Not really so hopefully I get new job soon so I can pay her

I afraid I'm with Braniac on this.  From your posts you seem to be living very well, buying clothes, eating out  etc.  I presumed your parents support you and your income is used for your social activities.  Of course you should talk to your parents and perhaps they can help you to manage your money  more wisely.  You are lucky to have supportive parents.

" but off now so won't get paid."

So you are taking unpaid leave? Just as you did in your previous jobs?

Are you on minimum wage Abbey? What sort of hourly rate do you think you could aim for based on your skills and abilities?

Perhaps you could ditch the £40+ driving lessons, the fake tan and fake nails?

You didn't work at all for the week before Xmas as you had poorly arm on the Monday and had taken a day off on the Tuesday, so you won't expect any wages for a few weeks until you get back to work at laundry.
