Nma, £10.85 ph

Thanks scorpiojo- I must be a year out with my figure for minimum wage. But I'm more interested in what abbey thinks she could earn in a new job.

It's your own time you're wasting.

Question Author

If the card home hadn't cut my days I would still be there

Question Author

I don't know what wage I could reach

If the care home were happy with your work, they wouldn't have cut your hours.

Abbey, if you'd been capable of doing the job, the care home would have been delighted to have you as a full-time (well, 30 hours) employee.

Question Author

I did try to show willing and offer tp stay behind

Abbey, there is no point in going over old ground yet again. The care home's view of your abilities and your view of your abilities didn't match up, hence the reduction in your hours. Move on from that, it'll get you nowhere.

Sorry scorpiojo- I've just realise you mean £10.85 ph is what she earns now, which is just above minimum wage, So 21 x10.85 = just under £228 pw. So it can't be right that Abbey only gets £120 pw even if she is on the wrong tax code. Something just doesn't add up here.

Abbey, forget the Care Home- they didn't feel you were up to the job. It's pointless whinegeing on about it now.

Realistically you could strike lucky and get maybe £13 an hour for maybe up to £500 pw, but you'd need to make a  real effort to fit in, learn new skills, accept tasks that you don't always enjoy or that stretch you, work Saturdays if needed and accept feedback without complaining you're being picked on by supervisors/managers.

Abbey, people have given you useful advice, so you should make progress with your tax situation. When you look for a new job in the New Year, it'll really have to be a full-time one - and you'll really need to try to make a go of it.

Question Author

Thats all I need is to settle in a job I enjoy with good hours and hope my date goes well.

Again, Abbey, lots of people do a job they don't enjoy or like because they need a wage.

Abbey, whether or not you enjoy the next job, you really will have to make a real effort to manage the work itself. You have got off to poor starts in  the last few places.

Question Author

It don't have to be perfect

When is the date planned for? You seem to have waited a long time. Hope it will be happening soon.

Question Author

Hopefully this week or new year. Yes we been on and off speaking he messaged me out of the blue to say he wants to meet up he couldn't before due to mental health issues and anxious of meeting new people that how I feel at times tbh and not in a good place but I'm going to meet him anyway or I could regret it.

I hope he lives close by and is fairly local to where you live then. Good that you already know each other. Due to your circumstances at moment I would say there would be no point meeting up with someone who lives far away.

Question Author

No he don't live far 2 buses local
