Also try the freebie sites Goggle for these not sure of name but something like netfreebies lists loads free shampoo, makeup, loads of samples once your on some lists the samples keep coming. O K they may only do one wash or two but it all helps.
Most need name address etc there is a download which means you only have to press one key and the name and address fill automatically, I haven't got it don't know how to get it. I won 500 stoe vouchers at Xmas, a website, and a dog toy since, do as many free comps as possible and you will win, but remember everyone goes through no win spells, don't give up and don't gamble on the net, enjoy waiting for the postman to call. Good luck
I was working in a poorly paid job gettting peanuts with no prospects, rather than going and getting lottery tickets and trying online competitions I went back to college (at my own expense and didn't have a day off for 3 years) and got some qualifications. I now earn 5 times what I did in my previous job and have loads more spare time.
For me luck is great planning meeting great opportunity. People might say I'm lucky to be earning what I do but for me I worked myself into a position where it was possible.
I tend to agree with WoWo that being fortunate with money is all about personal attitude and not expecting to get anything for free. This means developing yourself to increase your money-earning skills and learning how to adopt money-saving, prudent habits. Most people who have money haven't won it from the lottery, premium bonds or competitions, but by developing & increasing their earning power in some way.
I'm reminded of the story of a woman who said to a world famous concert pianist "Arn't you lucky being able to play so wonderfully?". His reply was "And arn't I lucky having to practice eight hours every day to maintain that standard?". Life tends to be like that I'm afraid.
Perhaps if you and your partner can sit down and take a long hard look at your skills and ask yourselves how you can develop them in the long term, it may be possible to increase your earning power. But that might involve having to return to Adult Education Classes courses or some other long term commitment. But probably it will be a more reliable method than waiting for a big lottery win or a 1 million premium bonds prize.
I don't think I am particularly lucky with money, but I am good with money and that is the thing that counts!
Re: competitions. The people you read about in the papers who win zillions of competitions put a lot of work into it. They spend ages thinking up slogans and trying to track down entry forms etc. You are unlikely to have much luck with magazines like Take a Break because so many people enter the competitions. To improve your chance of winning competitions you need to go in for those that require skill (i.e. writing slogans) and make an effort to find more obscure competitions that won't get as many entrants.
I don't earn much as I am in a vocational profession, but I earn myself pocket money via ebay. I sell off stuff that I no longer want and I also occasionally see things in sales/charity shops that I sell on. I also make cards which I sell to friends/family/colleagues.
I recommend getting 'The Luck Factor' by Richard Wiseman out of the library. He looked at people who considered themselves lucky and those who don't. He found the people who themselves lucky were luckier, but it was because they tended to have a more positive attitude and grabbed opportunities with both hands.
