Yes.

However use of your debit card in an ATM when you get there is likely to be better still

I believe the Post Office also do this at 0%

Most of the High Street offers 0% commission. However every single one of them loads the exchange rate to compensate. M&S have the reputation (which used to be deserved - I haven't checked recently) of offering the best rates.

The travel agents Thomas Cook does it with no commission don't know how it works but I think most travel agents will change it for free.

i have looked into this quite a bit and as others say places like marks and spencers do 0% but rates are never as good as these places called Cheque Centres. Not sure if you have one near you - they do foreign currency and also things like payday advance etc. As far as i am concerned their rate has never been beaten and I have used them on many occasions. They are also 0% commission.

Sorry should have added - as previously said definately better getting money out the ATM at your destination but you always need to have some cash for your arrival, therefore get a small amount from Cheque Centres.
Another tip- always get or at least order your currency at the start of the week- Its always a higher rate on monday and tuesdays. It all adds up and can save you a few quid
I always thought if you got cash from ATM abroad you get charged a standard rate -about 2.50. Would that not negate any savings?
try top shop in Oxford circus, used to work there, not too bad. Any place you go will charge you more or less the same
