can anyone answer this one.

my dad has been off sick for the last 10 month ,

his mortgage is being paid by the bank through insuance .also his mortgage is due to finish in the next 5 months

he has been told he will never get back to work from the doctor.

so will the bank continue to pay his mortgage and as he has a shortfall will this also get paid???

What do you mean by a shortfall?

Arrears accrued before he fell ill?

An endowment that will not meet the amount outstanding?

What are the terms of the insurance? Many of these policies pay for 12 months, two years etc.

Sorry for the questions, but it is impossible to answer properly without these facts. :)
