what notice to tenants
5 Answers
My tenants of two and a half years on a periodic tenancy that has rolled over from its original assured shorthold tenancy agreement, are aware that I am selling the property and have been happy to show it over and allow access to estate agents(this has totalled about three to four visits)Have now not allowed a visit today even though they were called and said it would be fine. for future reference they have told me that I'll have to give them written notice for access to the property
Does anyone know how much I have to give and if it has to be in writing?

It is quite common for tenancy agreements to state that the landlord has to give a period of notice to visit the property, but there is no general rule about this that anyone can give you. It does depend on what the agreement says. If it doesn't say anything then it is defective and you will need to get advice from your solicitor.
