I may be wrong but I think you have to be getting Income Support to be able to claim any grants or loans. If you contact the Citizens Advice Bureau they may be able to tell you where you can get help with furniture etc. If you are on a low wage you should get help with your rent though.
I hope you mean that you will need a bed and not a bet!!

You will have to save up like the rest of us did. The first time I rented on my own, I was hardly eating anything 'cos I couldn't afford food at first! No help available though as I had a full-time job in a Bank.

It did get better as time went by and my wages increased, but when I first moved in, I took my bed from home and didn't have a settee, I borrowed 2 deck chairs from my mum. I also got myself a second job in the evenings, just for about 12 hours per week which helped.

It was worth it though!
Oh, I forgot, I also didn't have a fridge, a washing machine, a phone line or a computer. The fridge and settee I bought about 3 months later with a bonus from work, the washing machine came 2nd hand from a friend (still going strong 7 years later) and the phone line had to wait 3 years! The PC only came when I got made redundant and was able to stop renting and buy my own house.

You can't expect to have all the luxuries you are used to at home, these come later.
or set your sights a bit lower ... try sharing or if you absolutely have to live on your own, try a bedsit, these are cheaper
you can only get a grant from the social if you claim income support/jobseekers allowance
