How do I go about taking a large amount of money out of my post office account. Do I have to write a letter, is there a minimum amount I have to take out.
I would be grateful if you could help.

Do you mean a Post Office Card Account for welfare benefits? Think you can take out a maximum of 600 on a single day.

As I understand it, the old 'post office accounts' were transferred to National Savings and Investments so will have their own terms.
If you mean the Post Office card account the maximum withdrawal is 600 a day, the minimum 1p.

I <think> you can make special arrangements for larger sums - you would need to ring them (number on the back of the card) to find out if you can and how to do it.

If you mean any other account you'd better say what it is and someone is bound to be able to help.
Yes, you have to write away to get your money out. Call in at your local Post Office and they will have a form or at least an envelope with the correct address on.
