Yes - lots of people make a living this way.

You have to find a product with a good mark up that is in demand and work hard.

If you are going to sell a product you need a good,reliable supplier.

Make sure you are selling the items for enough to cover all the eBay and PayPal fees and income tax. As you are already earning, ever penny of profit will be subject to tax.

Don't forget the postage and packaging costs too -you need a good supplier for packaging.

i made �90 in a week selling off some stuff for xmas, pure profit selling stuff thats been sitting around the house! which meant i could buy my hubby some extra gifts. sold some jeans for 30

bazile - I sell a specialist product that is hard for most people to source. So not everyone wants it, but the rarity value allows for a big mark up.

It is far better to sell products you know very well - perhaps from an existing business or a hobby. Avoid things like new books and dvds - the competition is too fierce and you will never beat the big boys such as Tesco and Play.

The thing to bear in mind with ebay is that you can do nicely selling something and then tastes change. I have never made my living on ebay, but used to make a nice bit of money selling cross stitch supplies on there. But I just don't make the same profits I did a couple of years ago. Cross stitch has gone out of fashion in favour of other crafts and I am getting less bidders for every auction. I am not sure I could deal with the stress of doing it full-time!
