i transfered my property into my ex-girlfriends name a couple of years ago but have noticed on the land registry and on sites like my property spy, it still gives the date and amount from when I purchased it. Why does it not give the amount and date from when it was transfered into my ex's name. My ex is on the deeds as the registered owner and has a mortgage in her sole name for it but does that mean that i still have an interest in it. Also on completion of the transfer my ex's solicitor paid of the mortgage in my name (well I hope she did, as I never received a letter or anything from the lender to say that I was now redeemed of it). thanks

i have no idea but please, please check that you dont have mortgage liabilities!
It's common practice for the Land Registry to record house transfer prices on the title register.

They don't record things like transfers if equity (did you pay her anything that was recorded in the transfer deed?).

On property sites it gives the last market related price paid so people can see when properties were sold to others (how the market is moving there ie does everyone leave so it may be a funny area) and for what price.

The more realistic price is what you bought for rather than what you transferred it to your girlfriend for. That's what I'd want to see if I were looking up local property prices.

If you did pay a significant amount then it is a remote possibility that the title at the Land Registry hasn't been updated as yet and you can check that here for �300...

They don't tend to record prices of transfers of equity on the title register.

thanks for replies. I transfered it to her at a lower price than it was valued at due to her paying for a lot of updates ie bathroom and kitchen and I did receive a few thousand pounds on completion from her solicitor by way of a cheque with a letter stating that I had been redeemed from the mortgage and that the transfer had taken place. And my lender has not been taking out any monthly payments. Maybe its wishful thinking that on my part that i could perhaps claim a beneficial interest in the property as it has risen in value considerably since i transfered it to her. But i suppose its too late now :(
