6475 is the standard single person's tax-free allowance but it depends on your tax code. If you add a 5 to the end of the number in your tax code, this will give your allowance, So if your tax code is 647L you can earn 6475 before paying tax. if your tax code is 650L you can earn 6505 before paying tax.

Im chuffed as according to Docs link I should be heading for the 'no tax' come April.
I must have gotten confused with the 10K-it was definitely in a manifesto during the General Election.Ive been patiently waiting on my tax rebate as well :(

10K is being phased in over a few years. Next year's allowance is 7,475
