Hello.

I currently pay CSA for my youngest son , who will be turning 18 next year ( 2010 ) .. I have paid my dues since 1998 and grudge not 1 penny of it.

My question is ... He is currently in the 6th year of his secondary education and is planning on leaving school in the summer of 2010 and attending college taking an HNC course in his chosen subject.
I have been informed that because the course is he has chosen is HNC not further education but advanced education and that as such my CSA payments will no longer need to be paid ...

Please could you inform is this is correct .....Thank You.

pesnally i would rely n the official channels to tell you, because what would happen if you stopped pAYing on the advice of peple here, and got a big bill? You could hardly say "well a few rando people on a website told me i didn't have to!"
The CSA page I have posted a link to sets out their rules that answer your question. Naturally you'd need to get the CSA to reassess your case so that a formal decision is made by them before you stop paying. Media URL: http://www.csa.gov.uk/en/case/leaving-education.asp
