Does every parent have rite to see their children?
7 Answers
Ive recently split with ex because of abuse he put me through which he is currently on bail waiting sentence - although he really hurt me and i hate him for what he has done he is still my kids dad and i know he loves them.
Im confused at the moment what to do - do i let him see his kids (obviously at the moment with some conditions!) or do i stop him having anything to do with them at all?
My concerns are the safety and happiness of my kids and i dont want my kids hating me in 10yrs because i stopped them see their dad!
Please help!

Seek some legal advice about arrangements for him to see them, supervised if necessary, and let him know that if he messes them about then contact will stop. If they are old enough explain the process you are going through to the children and why you are doing it.You could also discuss your options with the police domestic abuse team (or a support worker if you have one?) as the police are obviously aware of him. Make sure you take care of yourself too and get what support you need.

Under normal circumstances id say yes, every parent has the right to see their children. However I know i'd personally never let anyone near my children who did something like that to me previously.
If you do allow him to see them, please, please make sure that it's ALWAYS in the company of someone else, be it yourself, his parents or whoever.

Im trying to get him to see his kids but social services being real pains about it all - yes i understand they are looking out for my kids but they are not helping situation with all their slow red tape policies! Ive said he can see them either at contact centre or at his parents house but social said they have to *** situation and it can take couple months - how is that fair on anyone - especially when the kids are missing him!
