We are thinking about moving to Rushden or Wellingborough in Northants from London. We could get a nicer house and have money in the bank as the properties are cheaper. The only thing that is holding us back is the cost of my OH travelling back and forth to work. This would be about £7000 per annum.
Should we do it or wait until retirement?
Wellingborough is a sh1thole. Kettering is much better and still a lot cheaper than Northampton let alone London. £7,000 per annum will have to weighed up with what you'd be saving. Only you know that.
ummmm...in the post war period, Wellingborough was upmarket, I have played rugger against Wellingborough Grammar School many a time, also ran there.......things clearly have gone downhill.
we stayed at Billing aquadome in a trailer tent in 1991, we went to a park near there that has a river running through it with almost rapids! At Billing we have pictures of my daughter on the 20p rocking horses, she loved it there. It was abit worrying though as there was a big lake in the middle and my youngest was only 4 and he loved the water!
