Morning sickness
I know morning sickness often only lasts for the first trimester - but does it get worse during that time? Or does it tend to stay about the same? I'm just about coping at work at the moment but am worried in case it gets worse (I'm 8 weeks pregnant).

She's refusing to take the tablets... (cutting off her nose to spite her face I think, but I'm not going to argue!!) Less than 3 weeks to go though......
Good luck!
Hi HM, sorry to hear you are suffering. Can only agree with both posts above....if you're unlucky, you can be sick right up until delivery day. My sister in law had it quite severely up until beyond 26 weeks. At it's worst, she couldn't keep water down, and was close to being hospitalised. Thankfully, that phase didn't last too long, and she and baby were just great. All I can tell you is that every woman is different, and you may well find, like most of those affected, that yours disappears by second trimester (fingers crossed!). I'd definitely consider speaking to your doctor, or midwife at next appointment, and ask for their help and advice. Good luck! xx
Good luck everyone with your babies.
You have my sympathy. I suffered morning, noon and night sickness for 17 weeks. As other people have said, ginger is a good cure. I always had a packet of ginger nuts handy - one in the car, one at work, one by the bed and lots in the kitchen! McVities' shares must have soared!
Ice is also an effective way of dealing with nausea. Suck on a cube, or, if you want to combine ice and giner, there's a very nice ginger sorbet you can get at the supermarket.
Another way to releive the symptoms if it bothers you throughout the day is try to eat little and often.
My personal feeling is that you shouldn't take anti-sickness pills. I don't trust them. My mum took a new wonder drug to combat morning sickness (it was introduced as a replacement to Thalidomide) and I ended up with a birth deformity. Must stress that nothing has ever been proved, but there's got to be a link there given that so many children of mothers who had taken this drug were born with similar deformities to mine. I think OBonio's wife is v sensible not to take them!
Hope it passes soon. In a few months, the only thing making you gag will be those toxic nappies!
