What did you all do for your little ones first birthday? I know my little girl is too young to remember this birthday in years to come but would like to make it special. Did you include family and friends or just family? We have some close friends/ baby friends through our nct group and would like to invite them but wonder if lots of babies would be too much for her along with family. We have also thought about doing a small gathering for friends on one day and family on another so she is not to overwhelmed with it all? Did you provide food for both adults and babies or just babes - the party is only going to be an hour and a half max so not sure what the best plan is. Any suggestions welcome!!

Us the parents, and grand parents- and a cake (which I ate)
Just close family for 1st Birthday & a little cake with one candle. She'll like the candle but won't be able to blow it out herself.

Other little ones (with parents) for 2nd Birthday.
Same as B00 plus far too many presents.
We just had family and very close friends for 1st and just some picnic type food out.
My daughter has just had her first birthday. We had a family party at home, for about 10 people.

the five couples from our NCT group had a separate do. We went to a soft play centre for about an hour then back to one of our houses for some food and a cake. We all brought our own food for the kids but they did eat some of the adults buffet too.

Enjoy your special day.
For both our daughters' first birthdays we just had cake and tea, invited Grannies and great Grannies.

Didn't really make a big fuss, but got some lovely photos with both girls sitting on all the knees.
I remember years ago reading about on each of the child's birthday have that amount of 'friends' which means on her first birthday just one other baby, on her second birthday 2 children her age. Other than that have family and those friends who have helped out and been part of her environment over the past year.
(Funniest thing about us inviting both the Great Grannies is that one of them is a Jehova's Witness... She still came and entered into the spirit of the day - good on her!)
