i have the same problem! My daughter will be 3 on new years eve and is already asking for a baby with a dummy! I had a look at baby annabel on amazon and read one review that said all the doll ever does is cry! and her daughter played with it for 15 mins and its been at the bottom of the toy box ever since! To be honest i havent looked at Baby Born. However......

If you take a look at the Early Learning Centre site they have a doll called Baby Millie and it looks like she does the same things more or less as Baby Annabel though she is only 30 instead of 35 and it doesnt state that the doll needs batteries either (which is always a agood thing). ELC also have an offer on and Baby Millie comes with a free accessory set (worth 25) which i think is fab! So all in all i think that this is the best deal around at the moment.

Would be interested to know what you think as i am still looking at the moment but havent found any better yet.

ELC site is www.elc.co.uk if you want to take a look

have just been looking at Baby Born and now im totally confused! I think Baby Born is definately the better doll out of Baby Born and Annabel but my dillemma is now between Baby Born and Baby Millie! The trials and tribulations of being a parent eh!

Baby Chou Chou is the favourite in this house - both my girls have baby born and Chou Chou and they preferred the latter.

Thanks for all your replies.

I think I'm going to go for Baby Born. I like the fact that it wets and uses the potty (my daughter is potty training) and eats actual baby food. It'll be like having a newborn again considering you have to buy packs of nappies and food!

The negatives I suppose are that it doesn't close it's eyes to sleep like the other dolls mentioned.

Toys R Us are selling Baby Annabel at the moment with 15 off!! 19.74 is pretty good, but from what you've said she doesn't sound like that good a buy. I do like the fact that she burps and sleeps though!

Such tough decisions!

Oh, and of course Baby Born is bathable. My daughter will love taking her in the bath with her!
glad youve made a decision! Im still deciding! Just to let you know that they are selling baby born food on amazon.co.uk for 1.95 for 20 packets!
Question Author

Ooh, thanks for that, they were much more than that in Toys R Us.

Good luck making your decision! Baby Born's ability to poo really swung it for me... lol!

ha ha that made me laugh Twirly00, thank you for cheering me up! I had got it down to 2, Baby chou chou or Baby Millie but now youve made me laugh so much I have 3 choices again! Will your decision sway me too?  ha ha ha

p.s. im not sure what the delivery charges are on amazon and it could well make the food more expensive than Toys R Us. I would check it out before you order any xx

Hey, that's true, I've ordered many times off Amazon and you only get free delivery on orders over 19, otherwise it's about 3-4. I think the food in Toys R Us was about 3.50 so it would be cheaper unless I make a big order from Amazon to make it worthwhile (hmmm... sure I could manage that...)!!

Another thing which might sway your decision is that Baby Born doesn't need batteries!

Hope you decide soon!

ha ha me too, watch this space! thanks twirly00
We have 2 baby borns, they've been well played with, and still are, the plus points are in the early days the feeding & pooing! but unless they take lots of water with the food the system clogs up, a warm bath has helped, but they empty of water for a while, needing a whole bath sheet. We've give up on the food, but they still drink & wet nappies. For the last couple of years Toys R us have had great offers around Christmas on the accessories which is a big plus. Small Newborn size nappies fit them well, so you can buy a real pack from a cheap shop, much preferred & real to the baby born 2 pack, and way way cheaper. Hope this helps!
