Hi, my little one is 15 months old. He was unwell over the weekend with a high temparature, wouldn't eat and was just generally cranky and lethargic. By Monday morning he was back to his old self - eating, playing etc. This morning when I bathed him I noticed that he had a rash all over his stomach and back, mainly concentrated around his waist. It doesn't seem to be bothering him but naturally I am worried. He is going to his GP later on today but I have been doing some reseach on the internet and come across something called "roseola". The symptoms match perfectly so I think maybe this is what he has. Can anyone else whose little ones may have had this give me any more info?

Thanks.

sorry, probably too late a reply for you, but I think it sounds like he has a post viral rash. Post viral, hence it will commonly appear after the worst of any symptoms have disappeared. This type of rash will only appear on torso, seldom legs or arms, and will disappear very quicklyw ithout any treatment at all. At Toddlers we laughingly call this "the rash no one tells you about"!! As you've noted, it doesn't bother the little ones, cso they're feeling better by the time this rash develops. Hope your wee guy got the all clear at the docs. xx
