try breastfeeding him until he is satisfied and then try and offer the mug after. he might take a small feed from the mug because he wont be so stressed out about not getting boob. if you keep doing this and making the breastfeed shorter each time and he takes more from the mug then i am sure he will be off the boob in no time. have you tried a bottle last thing at night instead of a mug ?
if all else fails just dont give in it will take a week maximum trust me !!!
Well done on the breastfeeding for so long. Why would you want to give up now? If your little one enjoys a little comfort at bedtime why do you want to take it away? And presumably you enjoy it as well as you have been doing it for 9 months.
That said you should probably ask some-one else to offer him the mug. He probably wont take it from you when he knows your boobs and a nice warm cuddle are so close by .
