Safe food during pregnancy....
Can anyone tell me if they know of a mayonnaise that is safe to eat during pregnancy? Do I need to avoid all store bought mayonnaise?Someone told me that you can eat mayonnaise that is made with dried egg...(?)

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The ingredients should say whether the egg content has been pasteurised - if so it is safe (as long as you store it correctly). I would imagine the only mayonnaise containing fresh eggs you could buy in a shop would be in the deli section, not in a jar, as it would keep for only a short period. If in doubt, check with your midwife!
hey ladies don't feel bad about mcflurrys. my midwife told me that the only reason why pregnant women can't eat whipped ice cream is because when it is from an ice cream van, the temperature of the whipped ice cream rises when the van is not in use (ie overnight) but mcflurry machines are always on so the ice cream isn't such a breading ground for bacteria. this has put me off ice cream vans for life!!!!! she also said that only home made mayo is a bit dodgey. so you should be ok with jars.
