Hiya, i have a daughter who will be two next week. I wasn't going to start potty training yet, but she keeps taking her nappy off (and won't keep one on), so i thought i would try. I have been trying for for about a month now, but she will not go on the potty or in the toilet, she goes just about everywhere else! I know she knows when she needs to go but how can i get her to do it where she should?
when i was potty training my little girl we rewarded her with stickers everytime she went where she was supposed to. It worked a treat and she was highly delighted everytime she had a new sticker. might be worth a go.
this is also the ideal time to potty train as the weather is warm so she can run around in the garden without a nappy, lots of praise when she manages a wee or whatever in the pot, but remember at first you'll probably have to runaround and watch her like a hawk so you whip 5the pot under her. good luck.
mmmmm... sounds like she isn't ready. Go back to pull ups and save your carpets and furniture. Try again when she's older. When she's telling you she needs a wee it will be time to try again.
Forget it until she can tell you she needs a wee. First signs that she is ready is telling you she has done a wee, then that she is doing it. Until she can tell you she wants to go you are wasting your time. Dont stress, who wants to chase round the house or garden with a potty!! My son was 3 when I told him he was big enough to use the toilet. We had 1 pair of wet pants and that was it!! I am all for an easy life.
