Christening

My partner and I have just given birth to a baby girl, and my partner would like to get her christened, however I myself am not christened as my parents (one irish catholic and one church of enegland never decided to a. christen myself and my siblings and b. could not decide which route to give us)

Can our daughter therefore still be christened?

best to speak to your local church. Some may say yes, some may say no.
Ive known parents who are not christened have a child christened, even unmarried parents so its all down to the individual church really,.

I dont see why not tink, You could even get christened yourself along with the baby. Congratulations!!

when we got our daughter christened they asked us if we were or if the godparents were,im not and two of the godparentd werent either and we still got her done i dont think it matters like it used to years ago

You need to think about why you would want to christen a child. Issues such as forcing your own beliefs, if you have beliefs, onto another human being. And if your own beliefs aren't as fundamental as they might be, there's the whole question of hypocrisy.

My local vicar told us that it was not a problem if parents were not Christened but it was a very big deal if Godparents hadn't been and if any of our chosen Godparents hadn't been done, we would either have to choose someone else or they would have to agree to be christened at the same time! as our daughter.
