chickenpox hell
My 3 year old has just caught chickenpox and is quite unwell with it. Her temp can be up to 40 but does come down with ibuprofen but the biggest problem is all the spots and the size of them! Some are really quite huge and have big blisters which is driving her crazy with the itching. I have tried calamine lotion and cream and she is on piriton but nothing is really working does anyone know anything else to help her?

When my daughter had chicken pox, I looked for natural home remedies on the internet. A popular one was oatmeal baths. You put dried oatmeal in a flannel (I didnt have any to hand so used ready brek!) and hold the "flannel sack" under the running bath tap. You can also swish the flannel around in the bath. It was like an instant relief for her! She would have a bath in the morning and one before bedtime, along with taking piriteze. For my daughter, it worked brilliantly and I didnt bother with the calamine lotion once I started this.
If her high temperatures continue, get the doctor out.
Hope she feels better soon :)
