my little sister was just the same, i on the other hand was a bit of a goody goody and did it as soon as it was set!
At 11 i wouldn't worry too much, i know as a parent you do. Perhaps the punishment she would receive off the school for either not doing it, or not seemed to have put a lot of effort in to it may give her the kick up the bum she needs!
I know my little sister didn't listen to my mums persistance at all, but as she got older and began to care more about her work and the realisation of what good grades meant, she put the effort in.
Failing that, possibly ban TV or cut pocket money etc until you see her homework is done. Or perhaps try and become more involved and interested (not that im saying you are not interested at present) and do bits of the homework together, not for her by any means, but just make the process more enjoyable than a chore!
Good luck, i have another few years before i face the trials and tribulations of getting my daughter to do homework!!

It's normal. I used to do mine on the bus in the morning on the way to school - or not do it at all!!! Personally, I feel too much homework is given these days though and less actual teaching goes on during the school day. Kids should work hard at school and play hard out of school.
Not really what you asked though zzxxee!!

My kids' school give them a trendy planner which is like a diary...they have to record all homework as it is given and parents have to sign it each week or the child is given a detention! It is also a tool for exchanging messages with staff and so on. If you contact the school and speak to the Head of Year for her year they can discreetly monitor the situation.
I had a little bit of the same problem with my son for the first 2 yrs in secondary and with a bit of lesson-learning...eg: detentions and the such like...things will hopefully settle for your child as they did for my boy.
After a long day at school it can be a real chore to face yet more work. Have you tried sitting down with your child and having a cuppa and a couple of biscuits and then tackling the work together? It does help and then eventually you can wean yourself away/
Good luck. xxx
