Pregnancy Level Hormones

Hi,

We found out I was pregnant on Tuesday and had to go in to EPU on Wednsday with pains in my belly on both sides. They're like a mixture of period pains and needing a poo!!!
I had a scan this morning but they could only see the thickening of the inside of the womb and nothing else. They think it could be too early to see anything yet, but I am over a wk late (makes me 5 wks gone?!)

I now have to go in every other day to get my bloods taken for the level of hormones and to try and see a trend of it going up. If it goes up it could turn into a normal pregnancy, if it doesn't go up in the 'trend' I could have an ectopic pregnancy.
I'm also going back in 2wks for another scan.

Does anyone know what the score of 550 hormones means?

I'm quite on edge about this because I had a miscarriage after 6 wks last July, I don't want it to happen again as we're so exited about this 'baby'!

Anyone know anything???

they wouldnt be asking you to go back if they didnt think you were still pregnant..
i had a miscarrage 6 months b4 i got pregnant again i now have a healthy 7 year old!
try not to worry stupid to say i know but it really does make a difference if you arnt stressed...
try and be positive...

Thanx, I didn't think anyone was going to answer me!!!

I had my blood results back yesturday (2nd test)
My hCG levels had doubled so I have been ruled out of having an ectopic pregnancy! Thankfully!

All I need to do now is go for my 2nd scan nxt wk which will confirm how far gone I am (my reconning I am 6+2)
I was too early for the scan to see anything the other day!

Cross fingers now that everything will be ok for the next few wks!! :)

Hi Cwpsi, hope everything turn out ok for you? I'm going through the same kind of thing at the moment, having tummy pains of both sides, really worried!.x
