I mentioned in thread below that during the night I was getting mild pains. I was only noticing them after I had been down to the toilet and they were wearing off pretty quick and not coming back til I got up and went back to bed again. Ive not had nothing else since. Just got up from a little nap and believe I have just had a show.

I know the shows can happen for a week or so before labour actually begins but with the light pains as well, is it or isnt it?

As I never had any when I had my daughter, I just wondered what are your experiences of having shows?

Oh bless you all!

Im sorry I didnt get back sooner but things went nuts Monday night!

When the midwife came out, I was 2 cm dialated but already not doing well with just the TENS machine but wasnt allowed anything else til 4cm. Tried a bath but it was even worse without the tens at all. The midwife did a sweep but after a couple of hours I was still only 2-3 cms but getting very bad contractions every minute. She let me go on the gas and air and although it was having the desired effect, it wasnt doing enough. The midwife asked if I wanted to go in to hospital so I could have some pethidine, who was I to argue? I definately agreed to that! But because I wasnt in established labour (4cm) they wouldnt take me by ambulance so my boyfriend had to take me by car after the midwife fought the gas and air back off me. The journey was hell as its a 40 minute drive but soon after I got there I got my pethidine which soon kicked in. I got to the hospital about 10pm and was straight back on the gas and air along with the tens machine and a shot of pethidine. Although contractions were still only a minute apart and painful I was resting well for those seconds in between. The midwife was getting ready to examine me when I started pushing whether I was allowed to or not! When the midwife looked, babys head was already crowning! 10 minutes later and a few more pushes, I gave birth to healthy 7lb 13oz girl!

Not bad for a two week early baby eh? She measured 49cm and was a lovely colour and size. I asked the midwife how they worked out how long established labour was for and she said from when the head popped out! I never did get past 3cm til then lol I asked how many pushes and the midwife said 5 or 6 lol It took me longer to deliver the placenta (took nearly an hour and lots of pushing!)
We arrived home yesterday lunchtime but tiredness hit us all hence me not getting on sooner. But your messages have all been very touching and Im sorry for keeping you all waiting lol
I will post a link with a pic soon :)
